HOMECOMING PARADE AND PEPRALLY
SCHOOL IS WHERE THE FUN IS... WHERE THE MEMORIES ARE MADE
USING ONLY BOOKS IS NOT FUN. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT 90% IS REMEMBERED WHEN YOU REACH ALL LEARNING STYLES. WE ARE MEASURING SIZES OF DIFFERENT MAMMALS. I INCORPORATED SCIENCE AND MATH. THEY HAD A BLAST. SOME THINGS ARE FUN DOING AS A GROUP.
Pizza Hut Book It Mission "Read Your Heart Out for Hunger" Read-a-Thon was a fun mission that my class really enjoy participating in to help with world hunger.
My class read to K4-4th grades to help raise money for World Hunger. Our goal is $350.

How does a chick breath in an egg? We did an experiment to answer this question.
Our bird project that was just supposed to have been a drawing ended up being a 3D project; they thought that a drawing would be boring. :) Before I knew it, they started bringing in feathers, wiggly eyes, special glue, etc . HA. They said that they told their parents that they "needed" it. Let me just say, "THIS WAS NOT SAID FROM THEIR TEACHER". LOL.
HO! HO! HO! CHRISTMAS WAS FILLED WITH FUN, LAUGHTER, AND CHEER.
We learned about the Legend of the Candy Cane and made peppermint floats, how NOT to be a GRINCH and ate green pancakes and green juice, and how Jesus is the LIGHT in our lives. They had to write reasons why Jesus is the LIGHT in their lives on a Christmas light and hang it on a tree on my door. We made stockings, cards and gifts for parents and grandparents, and more.
THEN, SANTA VISITED US AND BROUGHT COOKIES AND MILK. He read us a story about the birth of baby Jesus. We had an ecstatic time and very grateful that he found time to stop by and visit us.
Before our Christmas break, we were able to enjoy one more special occasion: the meaning of giving and receiving by giving gifts to our fellow classmates. I even received many wonderful Christmas gifts from class.
LEARNING ABOUT THE 5 KINGDOMS
WE MADE FOLDABLES, WATCHED VIDEOS, HAD DISCUSSIONS, AND SO MUCH MORE WHILE LEARNING ABOUT THE FIVE KINGDOMS, BUT THE BEST PART FOR MY CLASS WAS LOOKING AT CULTURALS UNDER A MICROSCOPE. WE BROUGHT IN CULTURES, AND VIEWED THEM UNDER THE MICROSCOPE. THEY WERE AMAZED TO SEE PROTIST AND WATCH THEM MOVE. WE VIEWED PROTIST, MONERAN, AND THEN VIEWED PRE-MADE SLIDES THAT I HAD LIKE THE HUMAN HEART, LUNG, BLOOD, SKIN, BONE MARROW, AND MORE.

SCIENTIFIC METHOD
CAN AN EGG FLOAT?
CAN AN EGG BOUNCE?
HOW CAN YOU TELL IF AN EGG IS RAW OR BOILED?
HOW HIGH CAN AN EGG BOUNCE?
HOW MUCH SALT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE AN EGG FLOAT?
We had fun learning the scientific method through hands-on, innovative experiments. They did an experiment to see if an egg could float or if it could bounce. They made a hypothesis by spinning an egg and guessing which egg was raw and which was boiled, and we performed many more experiments like these to learn about the scientific method. They filled out a foldable in class, and will conduct their own experiment at home, and tell us about it in a few days. We are very excited to hear about their experiments and to hear about what all they learned.
