THANK YOU, MR. JUSTUS FOR PARTICIPATING IN "DONUTS WITH DAD"
Are you a family with superpowers that are hidden undercover so others do not know?
We, as parents, all have hidden superpowers (skills) that we might even know we have. WE ALL HAVE A PLACE. WE ALL HAVE A PURPOSE. We all have something we can share with one another like scrapbooking or a small game outside that teaching a lesson.
WAYS YOU CAN BE AN "INCREDIBLE PARENT" AND SHOW YOUR SUPERPOWERS
"THE SWAFFORD LEAGUE"
1.DONUTS WITH DADS- I would like for every dad to come to class at least one time, bring donuts to share, and spend some time with my students on a topic of your choice for about 30 minutes. Tips: read a book, talk about your job, your hobby, or bring in a craft.
According to a study by the National Center for Education Statistics, children do better in school when their fathers are involved. The study found that children in two-parent families in which the father is highly involved get better grades, enjoy school more, and are less likely to repeat a grade, compared with kids from families in which only mothers are highly involved.
2. Be the Class "SUPER" PARENT" (mom or dad). You will be the "go to person". You will be asked to call, text, or write/send letters home for certain events. This person has to be dependable. You will set up my Dad for "Donuts for Dad" and make sure my Dad for "Donuts for Dad" is going to show up. I cannot worry if this is being done or not. We would work very closely together. You will need to be organized, reliable, have internet and computer, and work well with others.
3."BLAST PLANNER" This person can be the "SUPER PARENT" or work closely with the "SUPER PARENT". You will make sure all supplies will be at the special party (Harvest/October, Animal, Christmas, Valentine, Snacks for Grandparents, End of Year) set up the table, and help with serving the party.
4. "SUPER STRONG ARMS" I have tests and quizzes that need to be pulled and filed. You can take these home.
Assists with projects at home such as cutting, stapling, sorting, assembling, make games, etc.
5. "FASTER THAN LIGHTNING" Someone that will stop by my room weekly to see if I need copies like assignments, newsletters, handouts, etc.
6. "STRETCHABLES" Parents that do not want to be the "SUPER PARENT" but want to help, but not sure what you want to do or you want to help with wherever you are needed.
7. "X-RAY VISION" brings grade level appropriate books to read aloud to the class on scheduled days.
EMAIL ME PLEASE AND TELL ME SUPERPOWERS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO IF THEY ARE NOT LISTED.
